LEVEL 3: A person that I admire! 🦋

POST 5

Hello everyone, I'm glad you're here.

Today I am going to talk about someone whom I admire as a professional in my career and for whom I have a special affection.
When I was in my second year, I had classes with a designer named Germán Droghetti, with whom we spent the fantasy of the theater.

As a short biography about his life, he was born on September 11, 1958 and upon entering university he chose to study Graphic Design, but fate had prepared another fate for him.
And this is how in 1985, when the Municipal Theater of Santiago opened a competition for the realization of scenographies and costumes for its productions, he applied and won.
Since his debut was Rossini's opera Cinderella, he made his way through a career of more than three decades in the performing arts as a Scenic Designer.
In addition, he established himself as a distinguished figure on the stage of the Municipal Theater of Santiago by being the founder of the design area, as well as by working for years in that place.
It should be noted that he became an academic for the career of Theatrical Design at the University of Chile, teaching the branches of the scenic design workshop and graphic techniques, leaving a legacy in a large number of students who passed through his classes.
However, on June 16, 2020 at the age of 62, he died after being hospitalized for Coronavirus, leaving a deep wound that is still open since he cannot be fired as the artist he was.

The reason I admire him is the same reason he contributed. Personally, I have discovered throughout my college years that it is not necessary to be someone who studied my career to become a designer and that is exactly what happened to him.
He had the talent to build the most beautiful costumes and the most extravagant sets, which was reflected in his sketches. His graphic line was impeccable, in fact it is something that I would love to aspire to because when it comes to drawing my life is complicated.

His contribution to the theater area is given by his work in various national and international theaters, giving that magic that only the theater can deliver in person and while being live. But above all, in the teachings and memories that he left in each person who was in his classes, as he gave more than one criticism that helped in the formative process of each one.

This is my teacher and those are his sketches💫

It was a pleasure meeting him and as he always said
May the gods be favorable to you
